Vintage 1940s-1950s Childs/Girls Straw Hat Yellow Ribbon 。This is a gorgeous yellow straw hat from the 1940s\'! The crown is shaped in a unique pear shape at the top, and surrounded by a wide brown grosgrain band that ends in a bow at the back. At the front there are beautiful brown and yellow fluffy feathers. There is an elastic attached to the inside of the hat to keep it in a tilted position. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
