1930s Black Straw Tilt Hat | Veiled Brim with Pink Poms。This unusual 1930\'s tilt toque (A small cap or bonnet having a narrow brim or no brim) is composed of a \'doughnut\' made of a soft stuffing, which is creatively covered with thin strands of black straw. The inside of this circle is filled with shiny black draped fabric, from which two streamers fall back over the hair. At the front there is a feather quill ending in a small teal feather, and is placed under several of the straw bands. Attached to the quill is also a teal feather spray. This feather trim may be removed carefully. There is a n elastic hat attached to the inside of the hat to keep it in a tilted position. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. There is no label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This hat is in wonderful vintage condition and has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
